What are the Libraries doing to keep users safe during COVID-19?

All UMKC campus health and safety policies and guidelines apply in the Libraries, including the UMKC mask policy, and distancing, cleaning, and illness guidelines.
  • The Library puts all returned items into quarantine before another person can check them out.
  • Campus Facilities Management cleans and sanitizes the library buildings, and library staff do additional sanitizing of high-touch surfaces in the libraries throughout the day.
  • Sanitation stations are placed regularly throughout all floors of the Libraries for users to take advantage of.
  • Masks are required at all times in the Libraries, and are worn at all times by library staff.
  • Plexiglass shields work to protect staff and students at all service desks, and furniture has been carefully arranged to promote the recommended six feet of physical distancing.
