How can I find out if the library has a book I want?
If you need a print copy of a book, use the Library Catalog to search:
- From the library homepage, follow the Library Catalog link below the library search box. Search by title, author, or topic in the catalog.
- The library catalog lists all the books and other physical materials available at UMKC and the other University of Missouri System Libraries. Most of our eBooks are excluded. Use the Place Request link to have a book delivered from the other libraries.
- Limit your results to books at UMKC using the campus, library, or location filters.
The Library Catalog + Articles search box on the homepage includes our print books, but will also allow you to find eBooks, articles, journals, and more with one search. To limit your results to UMKC books and eBooks:
- Search by title, author, or topic in the Library Search.
- On your results page, open the All Filters menu and select Library Location. Check the boxes with UMKC in the name to limit your results to books located at and eBooks owned by UMKC Libraries.
- Note that you can only access UMKC eBooks as eBooks can not be shared between libraries.
