If the Libraries have subscription access to download an eBook, you should see a Download, Download Book, Download PDF, or Full Download button, link, or icon on the eBook information page.

  • Select download, then follow prompts from the eBook provider to download or borrow the book.
  • To open an eBook available as an EPUB file or to read while offline, the eBook provider will prompt you to download a free reader app, such as Adobe Digital Editions, Calibre ReaderEbook Central Reader App, or Thorium Reader. Thorium Reader is screen reader compatible.

We share our library catalog with the other University of Missouri system libraries, so you may see eBooks in your search results that are not available to UMKC users because publishers do not allow libraries to lend and borrow eBooks. You can request to borrow books that the UMKC Libraries does not have by placing an Interlibrary Loan request. If the book is available in print we will borrow it from another library for you.
