Edgar Snow was a Kansas City-born journalist who was the first Western reporter to write about Mao Zedong and the Long March in the 1930s. He wrote many books on China. His collection, the Edgar Parks Snow Papers, was donated to the University of Missouri-Kansas City through the efforts of E. Grey and Lois Dimond, who were friends and supporters of Snow.
