eBooks that are included in UMKC Libraries subscriptions will display a button, icon, or link you can select to read the book online. This link may labeled Access Now, Read Online, UMKC Online Access, or Access Options with a dropdown menu to select PDF Full Text or EPUB Full Text. Some eBooks open right away when you select the title of the book from your list of search results.

These options allow you to read an eBook in your internet browser. You can download an eBook to read it while offline or to open the eBook in an reader app that allows you to highlight and annotate.

We share our library catalog with the other University of Missouri system libraries, so you may see eBooks in your search results that are not available to UMKC users because publishers do not allow libraries to lend and borrow eBooks. You can request to borrow books that the UMKC Libraries does not have by placing an Interlibrary Loan request. If the book is available in print we will borrow it from another library for you.
